He will keep the feet of his saints, and the wicked shall be silent in darkness; for by strength shall no man prevail. (1 Samuel 2:9)
As I lay here in bed recovering from a broken leg this was a relevant and timely word from the Blue Letter Bible daily promise. I will try and keep this short and to the point. Most churches today do not have any understanding of what weakness really is, they will tell you that when you need Christ He will be there to comfort you, direct you, hold you, love, ect. And that is true. But the point is, there is not a day, hour, or moment that goes by that we don’t need the Lord regardless if we are in the valley or on the mountain top. This is what the “good fight of faith” is all about. It is a constant fight to deny ourselves, our strength, our understanding, our intellect, our talents, (Flesh) ect. as a means of Victory and Fellowship with the King of Kings and Lord of Lords. There is nothing the Lord needs from us and nothing we can offer Him that will bring about that Victory, this is one of the modern churches greatest struggles. But that is what is meant by, “for by strength shall no man prevail”. Today’s church is all about being a better you, humanistic phycology, 40 days of purpose, self-help mumbo-jumbo, etc. and as this scripture plainly states, those who go that way, SHALL NOT PREVAIL. Pro 14:12 KJV - There is a way which seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death. Without Faith in Christ we can do nothing, without faith in the Cross the Holy Spirit is greatly limited and thus we begin to experience the fading victory, freedom, and liberty we once had. Paul said, Rom 7:9 KJV - For I was alive without the law once: but when the commandment came, sin revived, and I died.
Jhn 15:4-6 KJV - Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, except it abide in the vine; no more can ye, except ye abide in me. I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing. If a man abide not in me, he is cast forth as a branch, and is withered; and men gather them, and cast them into the fire, and they are burned.
Whatever the need: physical, mental, emotional, financial, Jesus and what HE FINISHED AT THE CROSS is your only answer, your only hope. Sadly most in modern Christendom are trying to add to the finished work, thus frustrating the Grace of God and further removing themselves from what they truly need and desire. It is time to come back to the Cross, not just for Salvation, but our Sanctification as well, remember, what saves us keeps us, for what is not of Faith is sin.
Col 2:6 KJV - As ye have therefore received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk ye in him:
Luk 9:23 KJV - And he said to them all, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow me.
Jer 17:5 KJV - Thus saith the LORD; Cursed be the man that trusteth in man, and maketh flesh his arm, and whose heart departeth from the LORD.
