Why I preach the Cross

This is the Work of God for you.
3:7-12 KJV - But when he saw many of the Pharisees and Sadducees come to his baptism, he said unto them, O generation of vipers, who hath warned you to flee from the wrath to come? Bring forth therefore fruits meet for repentance: And think not to say within yourselves, We have Abraham to our father: for I say unto you, that God is able of these stones to raise up children unto Abraham. And now also the axe is laid unto the root of the trees: therefore every tree which bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire. I indeed baptize you with water unto repentance: but he that cometh after me is mightier than I, whose shoes I am not worthy to bear: he shall baptize you with the Holy Ghost, and with fire: Whose fan is in his hand, and he will throughly purge his floor, and gather his wheat into the garner; but he will burn up the chaff with unquenchable fire.
It is evident that the greatest hindrance to receiving the Great Truth of Christ and Him Crucified is our own self-righteousness. It exposes to man that his faith is not where he says it is but instead in his own works, goodness, performance, etc. It is hard for man to realize his own moral depravity and that there are none good, no not one.
Rom 3:9-18 KJV - What then? are we better than they? No, in no wise: for we have before proved both Jews and Gentiles, that they are all under sin; As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one: There is none that understandeth, there is none that seeketh after God. They are all gone out of the way, they are together become unprofitable; there is none that doeth good, no, not one. Their throat is an open sepulchre; with their tongues they have used deceit; the poison of asps is under their lips: Whose mouth is full of cursing and bitterness: Their feet are swift to shed blood: Destruction and misery are in their ways: And the way of peace have they not known: There is no fear of God before their eyes.
Mat 5:3 KJV - Blessed are the poor in spirit (conscience or their moral depravity): for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
John the Baptist and Jesus, time and time again exposed this within the hearts of the religious leaders of their day. Their Faith was in their nationality, their goodness, their position, their giving and loud prayers, etc. and they were so bound by their RELIGION, not willing to hear the Word of God and repent that it ultimately drove them to Crucify there only hope. You see, RELIGION always tries to kill what it can not control. RELIGION is the greatest narcotic known to man and man does not let it go easily. We see that with Cain. He approached God in Religion, bringing a sacrifice of his own making and he was so unwilling to heed the voice of God that his anger boiled to the point of killing his own brother. We see this still today, Christian’s killing Christian’s through slander and gossip all in the name of God ie., Religion. It is one thing to point out false doctrine and even expose those who preach heresy and yet another to destroy a person just because you disagree with them. We as Christians are to warn and expose, but it is out of love that we point out the poison in the pot. I don’t hate the Word of Faith Teachers, or the Hebraic Root folks, nor those deceived by the Grace Revolution message, but their doctrine is killing people, it is not God’s way. If your faith is not anchored to Christ and Him Crucified then it is time to repent just as John the Baptist warned the Pharisees and Sadducees, and to bring forth fruit onto repentance.
One scripture you will hear me speak of often, one that spoke loudly to my heart is, Jhn 6:28-29 KJV - Then said they unto Him, What shall we do, that we might work the works of God? Jesus answered and said unto them, This is the work of God, that ye believe on Him whom He hath sent. There is ONLY one fruit or one work that God will accept and that is our Faith, and our Faith in the Cross, for what is not of Faith is sin. There is no Salvation outside of our Faith in the Cross and there is no continued Victory, Joy and Abundant Living outside of that same Faith. Cain would not accept this. The Pharisees and Sadducees would not accept this, and much of the Modern Church does not accept this, proved by the condition the world is in today, “for as the Church goes, so goes the World"
Why do I preach the Cross? I preach the Cross because the axe is laid at the root of the trees, the time in coming when every man's work shall be made manifest: for the day shall declare it, because it shall be revealed by fire; and the fire shall try every man's work of what sort it is. 1Co 3:13 KJV The fan is in His hand and he is about to throughly purge his floor, and gather his wheat into the garner; but he will burn up the chaff with unquenchable fire. The wheat is the work of the Spirit, produced in one’s life by their determined Faith in the Cross, while the chaff is the work of the Flesh, man’s own understanding, man’s own devised way. God’s Way is a narrow and straight Way and few be there that find it. Why do I Preach the Cross, because not only do I want to see souls Saved but I want to see Saints delivered from their Religion and be set free from the yoke of bondage by coming back to their first Love, the Cross.
Rev 2:4-5 KJV - Nevertheless I have somewhat against thee, because thou hast left thy first love. Remember therefore from whence thou art fallen, and repent, and do the first works; or else I will come unto thee quickly, and will remove thy candlestick out of his place, except thou repent.
God Bless, Bro. Scott.
